I am so excited to be a part of RAC! The photo you see is of me on my curly, Custer's Warrior Dun (a.k.a. Custer), in the early Spring of 2008. We had just gotten him back from his 90 days of training and "Mom" (me) was going for the first ride at home. He was still a stallion when the photo was taken and I soon learned that his studly tendencies and attitude were taking up much of our riding time, so we had him gelded and while it was a HARD decision, it's been a MAJOR improvement in his attitude. I last rode him in June 2008, then broke my foot and was in a cast until this past October. So, Custer was unridden during that time, unfortunately. The RAC will give me encouragement to invest more time into him and move him to a new level (as well as me!). I've owned him since he was about 8 months old (he's coming 4 this spring) and if love for your curly could win the contest, we'd win it hands down! He's my baby, but I'm ready for him to grow up a little and see the sights. I think the contest will help us do that! So I am happy to start working towards getting back in the saddle!
I am delighted to be part of RAC for my second year, and to participate in the ground work portion as well. Hopefully I will be ON my curly more this year as she matures and her training progresses, but we'll always enjoy our bonding moments on the ground. This is a picture of my curly mare, Miss Prairie Dawn playing with me in my arena in Oasis, Idaho.

It is so great to have such an energetic & positive group again this year! For those of you that have not been part of the RAC in the past, I encourage you all to share your adventures throughout the year via a public blog, such as this. Unlike past years, this is not hand-posted by me, which may make it easier for you all to add your own message, photos etc. Let's see how it goes for 2009.
The reason I decided to add blogging to the contest is because our Curly Community is so widespread it is hard to stay in contact sometimes. Working as a "promo" team, requires all of us to network a little, and help keep each other inspired and motivated. This blog can also be used to share information or ask for help on a particular training issue as needed. That is all fine to do.
You can upload photos and post comments as well. The PUBLIC is also welcome to post and encourage you. I look forward to an amazing 2009 with you. And as always I am just an email away, so contact me if you have any questions.
