Lyle is "Feeling Back To Me"

Dear Reader,
Lyle is really starting to feel back to me now. He has literally shown me how to hold the reins so that he can give me a good and clear yield. Please study the enclosed pictures and you will see what Lyle told me to do in my own heart and spirit. Lyle has, of his own free will and goodness, chosen to allow me to keep him from hyper flexing and over bending.
I am thankful.
Sincerely,

  3. Billy Bob and Lesley,
One more thing: The basic idea of how to retrain Lyle came from Temple Grandin's book, "Animals in Translation." The actual behavior that I had to practice in order to do this re-training came from Allen Pogue's work and from Bill Dorrance's book, "True Horsemanship Through Feel." I just wanted to make this very clear.

  4. Penny, Lesly is a voracious reader, so I'm sure this is helpful to her. She has a huge horse library. I know because she has been kind enough to loan me a few items!! Have you seen the latest photos of her stallion? He is amazing! Floats above the ground.

  5. Susan,
I would LOVE ti see pictures of her stallion. I met Lesly at the ABCR "convention." I was deeply impressed by Lesly's integrity, kindness and honesty. She cares deeply about BOTH people and horses. Please tell me how I can find the pictures of her stallion.
    Sincerely,
    Penny

  7. Amen Sister! Yes, those horses sure do uplift the human spirit. I hope that WE do as much good for them as they do for us.
I have a partner for the Nov. mini challenge! Her name is Cheri Taut. She has a therapeutic riding center that helps abused and traumatized children. Cheri has her own curly mare that she is training her self. The mare is very green. But this will be a good thing for Cheri's mare.
Dana, as you and Marley know, there is so very much to look forward to.
    Thank you,
    Penny
