Susan and Didder – off to Poland!
Saturday Kara and I loaded Didder and his buddy Allie into the trailer at the crack of dawn and headed over to Poland to ride with a new friend! Oops, I didn't realize when I planned this trip that it was the first day of Youth Hunting Season, so we grabbed some orange and I draped my red RAC hoodie over Ah-D's back as a safety measure. Our Hostesses With the Mostestess, Cheryl and her beautiful Angel, showed us around her trails, which include a good piece along the Androscoggin River. What a beautiful ride! At first, Ah-D was quite tense, but he still wanted to lead the pack. It took him a while to settle in, but after we stopped for an apple snack and his sweet tooth was satisfied, he was much calmer. Look at this sweet apple-slobber face. We rode through beautiful wooded area, past a big farm with a bunch of Holsteins curiously staring at us, and through some big farm fields of hay and corn stubble. We scared up a couple of beautiful deer that bounded away, and we saw a lot of cool birds on this trip, including a hawk, an eagle, and a shitpoke. There was still quite a bit of color to be found everywhere you looked. Back at Cheryl’s barn, I played with the timer on my camera to get a picture of all three of us, and that was pretty fun. Three silly schoolgirls on their beautiful horses! :) We had such a good time. I hope this is the first ride of many with our new friends!
