Black Shawnee says it all here in Oklahoma! We are staying in the shade and only riding at night, but this week we have given up - 112 degrees today. It's just too dern hot and the horses need the night to cool off a little. We have still been pushing cattle at the night ropings, and will start up again soon.
Hoosier Daddy (Bruce) and I attended a clinic at our trainers last week and had a great time playing with all the obstacles and looking at the camel. She has a camel in training for riding and the horses are really freaked by him.
Wanted to share a cool obstacle I hadn't seen before - four foot square filled with empty water bottles that the horses step on. A good obstacle for the sound those bottles make and something different to feel on their feet.
Hugs to everyone - pray for rain

That is hot!!! I will not complain about our 91 degree day... Very cute that your horse figured out a way to stay cool.

What a lovely picture! And it sure is hot at your place, it is warm here too but not that hot! Hope you have some rain soon and that it cools down a bit.
ReplyDeleteIs that beautiful Shawnee IN the water trough? She's a pretty smart cookie. Have you been doing a rain dance? I feel pretty guilty that I whine once it hits 90.
