Falling in love!

I have to share what happened last evening when I went to give the horses their grain. I have one bucket and 3 bowls that I carry out to the pasture. With the snow and previous mud, things can be tricky walking in the pasture with the humpy-bumpies all over the place. Lance always gets his first and I set his bucket down. Then Willow (my new mare) is usually next and as I walk over to her, I stumble at the last moment, am trying to catch myself and save all the grain in their bowls and literally fall into Willow's chest! She never moves a foot and looks at me as if to say, "You still have my grain; right?" As I was falling I was having fleeting thoughts of her spooking and me getting stepped on or worse, but, no, she was solid as a rock and it didn't faze her! Now, Lance, Willow's "boyfriend material" as Susan says, would have been in the next county. So I was really pleased with her reaction and fell more in love with her and my decision to adopt her! Janeen, Corky and Willow in the UP of Michigan!

  1. Well Janeen, it just sounds like you got yourself a great horse, but I thought when I read the top and it said falling in love, I thought it was me. but that's okay I was excited for a few seconds

  4. Oh Harold you do keep us on our toes! That's awesome Janeen that she stood for you like that! Linus has saved my neck many times like that! Most recently when I nearly faceplanted off the edge of the slippery bale feeder! Had it been Allie standing there I think her reaction would have been worse than just faceplanting!! Lol, love hearing your stories! : )
