In this picture I am dismounting from Lyle. As you can see he is bareback. He has planted his front feet so as not to move. He has spread his back feet so as to support my weight as I dismount. I am dismounting from the "wrong" side. This is the start of teaching Lyle to let himself to be mounted from the "wrong" side. I am real proud of Lyle because he stood still as a rock when I dismounted.
Lyle and I are taking little baby steps. But these little steps do add up over time.
