Last day of the challenge and Billy and I have had a very busy weekend! Unfortunately, I cannot post pictures because I am on dial-up at home.
Billy and I got up early this morning and rode in the rain. It was such a nice drizzling rain and it was perfect for this challenge. We rode through a couple little puddles which were not problem for Billy. He LOVES puddles and water! I also took the opportunity to trot him for 5 minutes bareback since I was already bareback. This is a challenge for me because I often find myself almost falling off! I really, really have to concentrate on sitting waaaaaayyy back and just relaxing. It is a good thing that Billy does not think that leg pressure means go faster (like my QH) because I really hold on with my legs. But, we accomplished it!
Friday afternoon, I took Billy down to the creek that runs through our property. We did this FAST because the bugs and mosquitos were horrible! Billy went right through and then we jumped a log that was down on the way back to the house. OK, you all have seen Billy "jump" and it is not really jumping. I will say he meandered across a log! hahahahaha!!!!
Not sure if this next accomplishment follows Denise's rules, but I got alot of birds with one stone. On Sunday, I was invited to go for a ride with one of my oldest son's friends. I did not know the trail we were going on at all, so she met me on the trail near about a mile from my house. There were 5 of us in the group and we went for about 4 hours! It was fantastic. They all were just fascinated by Billy and Billy seemed to really be putting on a show. It was a great ride with some great people!
Anyway, that is it! I am going to continue to work on the tasks that I have not completed on this challenge because they are fun and going to strengthen my bond with Billy! I am getting more confidence to ride Billy through the "Ancient World"!
No pressure Denise, but what are you going to come up with next??? This was an amazing challenge for many reasons. YOU ROCK!!!!!!
The RAC (Ride-A-Curly) International Riding Contest will not be held in 2012. But feel free to enjoy the stories from the past few years in this blog. The RAC was formed to unite all Curly Horse owners from around the world to work as a team in not only encouraging and motivating each other, but in promoting the breed. Be mindful that this blog is not a training blog and any techniques or methods shown here are not necessarily endorced by the RAC. Consult your trainer for advice.
