Calm before the Storm - ride in Michigan

Good Evening Everyone - what a long awaited for beautiful day here in Michigan. 32 deg (sih), sunny and fresh snow for good footing. Storm coming in tomorrow!

Erin, my riding buddy was home from college so I invited her to share the last ride of the year and end of RAC 2011 with me, Reese and Bear. Our boys were VERY laid back today. Due to the mild weather we were actually able to ride for a couple hours before getting cold. It was absolute heaven. We even had a few good trots which was fun.

Hugs at the end of the ride after unloading and untacking.

Ruby of course joined us. =] Such a good girl!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! And thank you again for an amazing year!!!

  1. Oh, I just love those beautiful sunny 30ish winter days! You had just enough snow to make everything bright and clean, but not enough to make the going tough. Lovely pictures. I am glad you had company and that your favorite boy Reese behaved. If you are going to take up driving in 2012, you'd better get a cart that has x-wide shafts for that puppy!!! Wow is he rugged! Thanks for posting so that I could ride in sunny Michigan with YOU! And, one more heartfelt THANK YOU for all that you have done for us RACers. We needed you to bring out our best, and you were there for us.

  4. Denise,
Bear looks so very happy! I can see him just glowing in the picture that shows his black bridle and you in the saddle. You and Bear are a real team.
Thank you for the RAC and for the encouragement that you gave to all of us.

  6. Thanks everyone...it was a wonderful ride. Best yet this fall/winter. =] Penny, I am riding Reese, he is the chocolate one. He is just as special and wonderful. =] Bear is the buckskin and Erin is riding him. She really enjoyed him..first time riding him. I swear both these boys are like brothers! Bear is the older more gentlemanly type...and Reese still just as wonderful but can be more mischievous. Both very much the same in how steady and quiet they are. neither wants to extend much energy to react at much. LOL.
