Happy Tuesday Curly Clubbers

Happy Tuesday Curly Clubbers <3
Its cold again here in Ohio....Im soooooo ready for temps ABOVE freezing!!!  Sassy and I worked Monday again with the clicker. Today we changed it up and worked with just being in the trailer.  Then we went on the trailer with a blanket on.
While she is in the trailer...she will sometimes sweat profusely *Im thinking a type of anxiety attack* ...there is no refusal to go on..no freaking out while she is on....So I thought we would incorporate just hanging out in the non moving trailer.  Sassy is a rather sensitive soul....and Im not sure what has triggered the endorphin response!  Have any of you guys experienced this??  After we just kinda hung out...I put her, KAllie and Panda out in the field.  They are so laid back right now.....Sassy's hock looks so much better..but there is a still a bit of swelling on the inside, so no round pen work for a couple of more days ~~

  3. Hi Krissy....it does sound like a type of anxiety attack....how old was she when you received her for such a cool b-day present? As a sensitive soul, your hanging with her in the trailer will help to reassure her that all is good in the world of trailering!:~) Did she go into her sweat with you during this session? Happy to hear that her hock is looking so much better!!!

  4. What a gorgeous girl! Is she a light chocolate color or grey? Hard to tell. Great idea to just load her and let her have a good safe experience. Interesting that she never fights you to go in or acts up, but you still know she is nervous. Do you feed her hay while she is trailering? If not, I wonder if that would help distract her.

  5. Doncha just love clicker training? It really helps them to make that first step in something that may be so scary that it would take forever to get them to give you something to reward.

Sassy is a lovely girl! I have two very sensitive girls as well, and neither really like the trailer, although they will go into it for me. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to thoroughly check it out. Denise, my girls won't eat in the trailer, they won't eat when they are nervous.

  6. What a gorgeous girl! My mare gets to be the same way in the trailer; like your mare, she is very easy to load and stands quietly, but she usually gently shakes no matter what. She has always done this, and I have no idea why. You are lucky to have a trailer to practice with! lol
