Winter Blues

Well yesterday didn't go as planned but I still had some fun.
I went out to the farm to discover the barn owner was building a viewing area in the indoor. So I made the decision to ride outside with a few other boarders. We were waiting for one girl to get there so we started throwing sand down in the pasture where it's pure ice. The barn owner said he would do this with the Bobcat but I was bored waiting. It turned out to be a huge event with 5 other boarders helping me out. We got it good enough so the other two went to get their horses.

Here is my boy Theo patiently waiting to get out.

We started down the driveway and my friends horse was prancing and wouldn't settle down. She is getting upset and scared and he wouldn't stand still for her to dismount. I got off Theo and was able to walk up to him and grab hold so she could get off. I took the time to get him settled some so I could mount and then he was back to prancing around. After a few bucks and straight up rears we finally had a nice flat walk with his head down. I wasn't going to push to much more cause I wasn't wearing my helmet and I was riding in a child hunt saddle. The arena was free when we got back so they went in while I spent a little more time with Mr. Amigo(my friends horse).

Once he was back to his normal calm behavior we swapped horses and I was back to riding Theo.
He too was being a bit of a pain not wanting to bend and swishing his tail. I'm going to do a full look over him today to see if he is sore anywhere but I am suspecting it may just be the saddle still. We did do some jumps and he seems to really enjoy them. No pics of that cause my camera doesn't do so well indoors. I plan on setting the video camera up today though.
My eyes were extremely itchy this morning but I starting to feel better now. Makes me really appreciate owning Curlies.

Well until next time
Theo, Abby and Blaine
