2 Obstacles Down
My photos always load backwards from what I want to do! Oh, well. I'll figure this out maybe by the end of the year. As you can see I worked on the tarp and umbrella with Tygs today. I was very impressed with how he did. The tarp pictures loaded in reverse order, but I started with picking it up and the wind was blowing so nature helped me out. He initially did startle, but then immediately touched it with his nose. After doing that a few times I asked him to walk all over it with me, which he did willingly and even tried to bite it!
The umbrella went well also. He sniffed it all closed up and then I rubbed him all over his body with it closed. After that I opened it up and did the same procedure. He wasn't fazed one bit. This challenge has caused us to do this with all the horses and it's been very interesting to see their responses! When Tygs was loose in the pasture and everyone was investigating the umbrella he even tried to pick it up and take it away! Good thing I had ahold of it! Silly boy! Tygs and I have a long ways to go, but as my husband says Tygs will be a good trail horse just because of his reaction to these challenges! Good luck everyone!

Janeen, this is awesome and gave Tygs a chance to show off in front of his new buddies! Tarps are scary; he is a brave and smart boy.
ReplyDeleteTygs is doing great! Great job with the tarp and the umbrella and also using the challenges for the other horses!
