Dressage horse and obstacles

Elektra and I tackled a few obstacles yesterday before it began to rain again.

Generally we have the obstacles set up during the warmer months for including in our training. Elektra did most of them before she was under saddle, but she has not returned to the 'obstacle course' since that time.

Today we had some pretty good wind -- so the tarp alley was a bit more challenging then usual.

I think the decoy obstacle was scratched from the list but I have to say -- from the reactions we have received from the horses so far.. it's a pretty ho-hum affair.

We walked over the bridge, through the tire -- the wind took down the streamer alley so I am waiting for my Mom to fix that.

and here is Elektra's debut over the teeter-totter.

so far there is very little Elektra won't do for me !

Here's a little video of her on the teeter-totter.

What a silly girl .. Elektra - due to her nosey nature- loves a challenge.  next up, Splash Dancer -- he's a clown and also quite nosey -- can't wait to see his reaction to the challenge course :)  I have to add -- don't forget, Elektra is for sale and is going to make someone a super best friend !

  1. I don't think the decoy was removed..if it was, it was a mistake. So go ahead and count it Zoe! What a good girl Elektra is! So talented...Dressage horse AND such a sensible mind for these things too. Really awesome to see!

  4. I loved watching you on the teeter totter. I know people that would have scolded her for stepping back at first. You can see though how your encouragement gave her the boost she needed to continue. so cool to watch!!

  5. Elektra is a pretty spectacular horse-remember Donna she and your Linus are related through their grand dam Lilly so Linus has the potential to be quite spectacular. When the teeter totter was being built I thought it would be much more difficult for the horses but once they have done the bridge they do not really have any problem with it.
