Well, we have been quiet lately, I know, but it is only because we are spending so much time with our horses! Anastasia is really riding quite a bit, which is great as she is doing some of my riding for me!
Having said that, today I rode my sweet boy, Joey, who I have to say is giving me a little whinny pretty much every time I dismount now - what a darling! He worked quite well today - I started carrying a whip today - to reinforce my leg - it seems my attempt to get him quieter has paid off very well and now he is behind my leg a bit, but believe me, I would much rather that than him rushing around!
Next I rode Kobee and I have to say that I did not have the best ride on him :( It seems that all the softness I had attained with him went right out the window..... so it was back to basics and I spent quite a long time on him, probably at least 2.5 hours. It was okay at the end, but I was discouraged :( I will take him out again tomorrow and see if I made an impression on him today.
Finally, Anastasia has been bringing Snowy out a few times and finding that he is a bit of a handful these days, so she asked me to help her the other day, which I did of course..... and since he was getting a bit out of hand, I have made it a point to bring him out for a while each day - and in typical Curly fashion, each day sees an improvement on the last. Today he was extremely good and we started doing some lunging. Now, don't worry! I know he is only two, and I would never overwork those young joints, but we just did a little bit and mostly for the obedience factor. So remember, Snowy is a young stallion and I have to say he was just so well behaved - I love my Curlies! I did get a couple of pictures of him yesterday - so here he is:
Snowy is for sale and will also be standing at stud until sold. I do think that he will be able to breed a few mares this year, so if anyone just has to have another one like him, let me know!
