I have played with Blossom so much on the ground that I needed to up the anti for the tasks.  We are working on liberty and she is really tuned in to me.
Backing at liberty is a piece of cake.  Backing at liberty while squeezing between two barrels is much more of a challenge for this girl.  Again my mantra for her...Slow and right beats fast and wrong.

  2. For Blossom and Her Wise Human,
Thank you. It is always good to be reminded that, "Slow and right beats fast and wrong."
I do not know how to use this computer thing well. Please tell me who you are and where you are located. Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Penny
P.S. I know how much harm fast and wrong does because I am still repairing that ruination in my gelding Lyle.

  4. Wow, I think my head is swelling. Betsy, I would like to take credit for that chant, but learned it from Parelli. Penny, I am Diane Robertson, Piney woods of East Texas. Harold, Blossom is a smooth coated Curly that befriended an old Morgan gelding when his best buddy died. She wasn't my favorite but her obesity after a winter in the best pasture with him made me get busy getting weight off her. I haven't done anything heroic as I am another of the seniors here....just consistent handling and "slow and right".
