Let me start by saying that for those of you who don't live in Northern California, I am soo sorry! The weather here has been fantastic, my wife and I went down to our local horse club, Novato Horseman's, and spent 5 1/2 hours in the sunshine playing with our horses. Tonic and I worked in the round pen and practiced keeping his (Tonic's) attention on me when there is a lot of comotion going on all around, he did pretty good, and he continues to impress me with his willingness and his brain. Ringo was great as always, we worked on neck reining and basic arena work. I love the comments that I get from people this time of year regarding Ringo's curls, most people around here have never seen one.

  1. Love the weather you are having Paul! Send us fellow Curly peeps some of that warmth and sunshine!! LLOLL
Ringo is beautiful!!! Awsome job on the ring work and the ride!! I have a ways to go before putting my feet in the saddle seat as opposed to the stirrups...but you have given me a distant goal to aspire to!!!! :)))

  3. NOT A SNOWFLAKE IN SIGHT! That just doesn't seem fair. In Maine, we are supposed to get ANOTHER snowstorm on Wed.
I am with Krissy, standing in the saddle is a distant goal, but where there's a will, there's a way!

  4. Dear Paul,
Ringo is very nice. I love how he comes under your weight. If you have weight on your left hip, Ringo comes right under with his front left leg to support that weight. He is very much aware of you. Did you break him your self? ( I have a feeling that you did break him yourself. But that is only a feeling.) You did a wonderful job breaking him.

  6. Penny,
I have to comment for Paul as he may not get back until his next day off - which as a Diaryman could be while. He has done all the training on Ringo himself with coaching from the sellers. Prior to this Paul was a mule man and had never dreamt of training his own horse, but after watching his wife with her horse from the same place and how much fun and success she was having he decided he wanted a horse and the new experience of building a relationship with it. Tonic is Ringo's little brother who was nt blessed with Ringo's curls. After the success and fun he had with Ringo, Paul decided he wanted a second project! LOL Paul has done a fantastic job, has asked loads of questions and has not been resistant to suggestions! GO PAUL! (and yup these two and Lisa's two came from here.) :)
