Sounds like the exitement of the new challenge is......challenging folks already to get out and get riding. As I wrote on the 31st....I finished the 2010 challenge on my smooth coated mare Blossom, a home bred and trained horse that I never dreamed would become one of my favorites. I have to say I never thought I would get a ride on her on New Year's Day this year because of social commitments. Yea!!! I was wrong!!
The weather was much cooler than the day before and pretty breezy, but my 14 yr old granddaughter and her best friend wanted to ride. They had stayed up till midnight to see the new year in and slept too late to do much of a ride. We did ride in saddles though, so that took a little while to adjust stuff for the friend. We rode back up to the meadow from the day before but granddaughter was on old Bart this time so he had little choice but to turn around when it was time to leave. Blossom was a bit more spirited due to the cold air and her mom, Sophie was the mount of choice for the friend. Did I tell you how much I love Blossom?
No camera with me either....hopefully this will not be the theme for this year as I enjoy looking at everyone's snapshots and sharing mine. Can't wait to hear from some of you across the pond and see your pictures as well.
Great for you to have been wrong, lol, and gotten out for a New Year's Day ride!! Hopefully by the kids sleeping in the weather got a chance to warm up a little bit.
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful that you found such a love for Blossom. Amazing how sometimes the ones we least expect to become so endearing to us.
Look forward to photos!
