New Year RAC

50 degrees F on January 1st? How can you NOT go outside! Well, the 8 inches of snow is melting and slushy, I'm sure it will be frozen ice in no time, so I couldn't waste the day.

I'm still not up to riding, and the footing certainly wasn't, so I thought I would bring out Lakota's favorite little game of "Rings". The object of the game is to pick up the deck rings and put them in the bucket. My goal someday is to teach her the colors.

Lakota prefers to take the rings out of the bucket and toss them on the ground. That's her favorite part of the game.

Putting her toys away, however, requires a bit more time and enticement (i.e treats after a Click).

Everybody gathers around to watch the excitement on Game Day!

Thanks, Lakota, it was nice to do something together again!

Lakota loves to pose for the camera, she is quite the supermodel these days, although she seems to have more of the old-fashioned Rubenesque figure. (I'm not kidding, this horse loves to pose for the camera, she will stand and "strike a pose", then totally go out of character as soon as the camera clicks).

Mandy giving her girl a hug. That's how warm it was today, T-shirt weather in New England, 50 degrees!

Happy 2011!

  3. Thanks, Susan! I have some more cute photos like that on FB. And don't give me credit for the ring toss idea, that was Elaine Elmer's idea, I stole it from her.

  4. Michelle, I am with Susan on that photo of you and Lakota....stunning!! You must be getting our 50 degree weather from our New Years Eve.....thankfully you didn't get the torrential rains we had (melted all our snow and yes, it's all ice now) and were able to enjoy game day with your girls. Impressive game....thank you Elaine for the idea, but thank you Michelle for the execution with Lakota! Love your photos!
