Abby gives a lesson?

Well she didn't actually give the lesson I did but I stayed mounted while I did it.
I rode her for a bit while Natalie worked Mr. Amigo. We were waiting for her to get Theo out... Last night was her first jumping lesson on him.
Abby didn't really care for Amigo passing or jumping for that matter so I thought I might as well just stay on her while giving Natalie the lesson. She can get used to Theo passing her and Jumping in front of her etc... Well it worked plus some! She was so calm and relaxed the entire time. I kept making her move around, halt, stand still, back, and we even did a turn on the forehand!
Her attitude is just amazing! We even ponied Amigo around while Natalie set up jumps. I really can't wait to go to the horse fair and show her off. She is a all around wonderful representation of the breed!

I wasn't riding Theo so I'll make this short but He was fabulous as well! Natalie got to canter some more and she jumped about a foot. He really jumped it rather then quickly stepping over it. Her reaction was priceless! She had a huge grin and said "He really jumped it!"
It's such a wonderful feeling to see a horse you trained work so well for another rider. It made my night!
It did sink in last night though that I really need to be cantering him more to help build his endurance and balance. Practice makes perfect right!

Well until next time Theo, Abby, and Blaine

  3. Great that Abby stayed so calm and allowed you to give the lesson. A great practice for her! She does indeed sound like a great representation of the breed!
I always love watching someone else ride my horse, especially if the horse does so well like you describe Theo doing!

  4. Yeah, I also enjoy seing my trainer Sandra riding Champagne :) She is riding the highest dressage level, and she is so exited about Missi as she really pleases the rider though her confirmation is not especially made for dressage lol
    Excellent job you are doing!
