A Very fine day

A little view from out arena.
The weather was fabulous here yesterday so i decided to do some schooling and hacking out. After last weeks lesson where we made great progress I thought I would continue with the same kind of format. I did a lot of circles and changes of rein in walk to start with then some trotting on a loose rein, we moved onto some transitions to get Echo to start to listen to my leg a bit move. We worked on some circles, and then back to transitions, so walk to trot, trot to halt, halt to walk, all ready for the big moment .... (dum roll please) and ....... it didn't happen. I couldn't get a canter transition for love nor money. However we ended on some very nice Circle's of working in an outline. So i was very pleased with that. I have a lesson booked today so hopefully i shall be posting tomorrow.

After our schooling session I headed out with a friend for a hack out, we headed over what we call farmers bridge, it takes us over a bypass, it carries a lot of heavy traffic, traveling from 70mph +. The horses are very good going over the bridge as it carries a lot of noise. This track takes us passed where an extension of the university is built, it pretty cool as each week we can see a huge difference. The riding over here in England is so very different to you guys we can really only do rides up to about an hour and half really. (i could be a bit behind on points here :) ) Ive included a few pictures (i hope) Echo is having a good old listen if you look at his ears.

Ps. If anyone can give me some advice on how to move your pictures around, id be most grateful.

  1. With some practice - you'll get the hang of it. First if you're using IE V6, move photos in Edit HTML mode. Cut and Paste - don't Drag and Drop. Or upgrade to IE V7, or switch to Firefox. I have found Firefox - for some odd reason- eliminated many of my problems. Also -- go to the dashboard, click on settings, scroll almost to the bottom and click on updated editor. With this updated photo editor - the photo will insert pretty much exactly where your cursor sits. however- blogger is mainly a text blogging service- so the photo part of it still has some kinks. :) see if any of that helps. also - at the end of your post.. keep clicking the backspace button to get rid of all that empty space at the end of the post created by the photo's continually inserting themselves at the top. 2. Hi Sarah,
Good luck with the canter transitions in the lesson! The riding here in the Netherlands is also different but we do have the possibility to go for really long rides luckily.

With the pictures I just drag them to the right position in the text. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries but it worked for me last time. Good luck!

  3. Sarah,
"A Canter is the cure for all ills" - they say and I believe it to be true. Just give yourself time and enjoy.
The photos are funny - sometimes it works to drag them around like Jessica suggest and sometimes I am just happy they show up{:>
    All my best,
    Angie
